The Dunny Makeover
What a week we have had with cars! I put mine in for a major service on Monday and Clint dropped me off home (after a pit stop at Maccas to satisfy the pregnancy craving with a sausage and egg muffin and hash brown). Just as he was heading up the highway to a job, he broke down and had to get towed to a nearby mechanic. So without any cars, he was unable to do his job for his client and I had to catch a bus (which I haven’t done in years) to pick up my car that afternoon. As of today, Clint’s car is still with the mechanic and has a list of things wrong with it so hopefully he can get it back tomorrow and get the backlog of jobs waiting to be installed done. Unfortunately my pregnant rice bubble of a car doesn’t have roof racks or a tow bar so he has only been able to use it to do quotes.
So while Clint has had some spare time, he has decided to be productive (destructive?!?) and chop down the pillars on our retaining wall at the front garden. I would show you a pic but I forgot to take it and it’s night time now so I promise to post an update later this week (and you can at least see how much our garden has grown as well).
Yesterday, I waved goodbye to him as I went to get groceries. I come home and the entire inside of the house (including Roxy!) was covered in a thick film of dust and we no longer had a downstairs dunny. Yes, he jackhammered it and the tiles out. This is what I came home to:
So after an afternoon of dusting and vacuuming, we got the house back to normal and today Clint was able to tile the floor with the left over Italian travertine we have from our previous purchase for the bathroom and downstairs entry and hallway (yes folks, we are still stretching the $120 purchase out!). This is what it looks like today:
So a lick of paint, new toilet and some edge tiles tomorrow and we should have a brand spanking new dunny! Stay tuned for the update tomorrow.
Have fun!
