Revealing the main bathroom
As promised yesterday, we wanted to share with you the results of our main bathroom makeover. But first, let’s go back in time and revisit what the bathroom looked like the day we got the keys to the house:



Yes, it was pretty skanky. Aside from a good clean, lick of paint and some new taps, we’ve pretty much lived with that bathroom. It was our only bathroom while we were building the ensuite upstairs. It has served us well but now the ugly duckling turns into a swan as we reveal our newly renovated bathroom:

Just FYI, building costs include architraves around window and doors, sheeting, plaster, framework, silicon, tiling adhesive, wet seal and grout. At the start of our project we planned to spend $2,000 on this room so I think we did pretty well at coming in close to budget.

Nice work. Question for you. Did you pull up the bathroom floor tiles before you replaced them or just tiled over the top?
Thanks Tiff! We pulled the tiles up but kept the old bed base as much as possible. After our experience pulling the same tile up in the toilet and the amount of dust it created taking the old bed base up, we decided this way was a better option. We took more out in the shower to create the falls though
