Pregnancy Update 26 Weeks
It must be baby season as I found out this week that my cousin is pregnant as well as my friend…how very exciting! My friend and I joke about how we used to go out dancing to night clubs and now we will belong to another sort of club…the pram pushing hot mummies club
Lot’s of doctor appointments this week just gone. I had a heart murmur as a baby and child so the doctor wanted to see where that was at and if it was going to be a problem during labour. The good news is that it seems to have closed up – yeah! It also means that I don’t have to have antibiotic cover before dental work now which is also good news. I also had a glucose blood test this week where I had to drink a bottle of glucose drink, wait an hour and have blood taken. I’m not the best with needles and blood but the ladies at the pathology were fun and I should get the results when I see my doctor next week. Speaking of seeing my doctor, I thought my appointment was on Friday morning this week just gone. Unfortunately it was the day before. How on earth did I get that wrong when I wrote it on a card as she was telling me?!?! Maybe baby brain is back!
How big is the baby: This week bub is about 35 cm long from head to toe (13.7 inches) and approximately 950 grams in weight (just over 2 lbs), about the size of a head of lettuce (pretty big head of lettuce if you ask me!). I keep getting told that I am a nice little package and someone even asked if I was going to hatch it because I look so small. Personally I think I look quite big and imagine how huge I am going to be in another 14 weeks time at 40 weeks (if I go full term).
Sickness: Healthy as a horse! Aside from sore feet and sore ankles from all the walking and standing I have been doing this week, nothing else to report.
Movement: Bub seems to be getting more active at night time (hope this isn’t a sign that she is going to be a night owl!). I was cuddling Clint in bed one night and the baby was kicking him in the back. Last night it made a kick so hard I saw my shirt move.
Sleep: Still up and down with my sleeping although last night I slept for 10 hours (and feel so groggy for it today!).
Cravings: No cravings but enjoying strawberries with yoghurt. I seem to have discovered chocolate again, having gone off it since I was pregnant, with Crunchie bars being a favourite (you know the little mini versions…not a whole bar).
What did you buy this week: I know I keep promising not to buy anything more but this week it was Target’s turn to have a sale. I bought the baby a cute little sundress with mini cardigan, short sleeve/short leg onsie, long sleeve/long leg onsie and a sleeping bag.
Highlight of the Week: Finding out my friend is having a baby. I am so excited that she is pregnant and we will be able to have play dates.
What we’re looking forward to: Finishing some more projects around the house before the baby comes.
Have fun!
