Pregnancy Update 25 Weeks
The pregnancy is continuing on very nicely. I’m feeling like I have more energy and less of a mushy head…what do they call it…baby brain.
Being so certain that we were having a boy, we had agreed on a boy’s name but then when we found out we were having a girl, we really struggled to find a name we both liked. I think we finally have agreed on one. We’re not going to share it on the blog…leave it for a surprise when we share her first pic out of the womb with you
How big is the baby: This week bub measures about 33 cm from head to toe (13.2 inches) and weighs about 800 grams (or 1lb 12 oz), apparently the size of a cauliflower. As you can see from the pic above, I am continuing to pop out a big further this week. Am continuously pulling my tops down to cover my belly as I find them riding up all the time.
Sickness: Nothing - yeah!
Movement: Lot’s of wave-like movements and it is happening more often, especially at night when I am trying to go to sleep. Roxy barked the other day and the baby moved so it’s definately true what they say about them being able to hear what’s going on outside of the womb. They said in a book I am reading that I should be able to feel my tummy and tell where the head is and the foot etc…but I can’t figure it out.
Sleep: My sleeping has been a little better…maybe because I have been staying up past 8pm. Yes folks, ever since I have been pregnant I can barely keep my eyes open at night. We had a friend over the other night for dinner and some band hero on XBox (yes, we are just big kids at heart!) and I couldn’t believe I stayed up to almost 2am!
Cravings: Completely over the cravings. Clint has been making scrambled cheesy eggs with hash browns for breakfast most mornings so maybe that is satisfying me now and I no longer need to trek to McDonalds. You know how they always portray a pregnant woman with a tub of ice cream and a jar of gerkhins…well do cocktail onions count? I certainly gave a jar of them a good nudge the other night. Although not a craving, I do have a thing for breakfast foods. I enjoy a bowl of cereal and have gotten stuck into the weet bix on occasion.
What did you buy this week: I know I promised not to buy anything more BUT Aldi had a baby special on this week so I couldn’t help myself. We stocked up on nappies, wipes and bought a porta cot for $69 there as well.
Highlight of the Week: My highlight of the week is that I didn’t have a single doctor appointment or blood test to be had (saving them all for next week!). Clint’s highlight is that my boobs seem to have gotten bigger yet again.
What we’re looking forward to: Enjoying the rest of the pregnancy
Have fun!
