Hot! Pregnancy Update 21 Weeks

Here’s the latest news on the pregnancy front. Thanks to every’s messages about my breasts last week…I knew you would be equally excited for my ever-expanding rack!  Usually when I am out and about I get a few smiles from people when they see my tummy but for the first time, today someone actually bought it up and asked me when was the baby due. Now I could have been naughty and with a straight face asked what baby but that would be way too cheeky of me!

How far along: 21 weeks. It’s hard to believe that I am passed the halfway mark and even harder to believe I will be almost 6 months pregnant soon.

How big is the baby: This week bub is supposed to be the size of a carrot but I haven’t seen any 25 cm long (10 inches) carrots weighing about 500 grams (1 pound) so not sure what they are on about there! Roxy loves carrots so am sure she would like to see one that big!!

Maternity Clothes: I am getting really bored of wearing the same limited wardrobe of what fits me. But I splurged this week and bought a maternity dress online so hopefully that will give me a fresh option. Now if only I could find a nice pair of black bootleg maternity jeans…

Sickness: None…yeah!!

Movement: I swear I have the world’s next stunt person in my tummy at the moment. The movements so far have been gentle and cute. On Friday they kicked up a few notches to the point that it was actually creeping me out a little. I’m a partial side/belly sleeper and I find if I lay like that, bub taps on my tummy to let me know she’s not happy and to roll over a bit.

Sleep: Am having the worst sleeps ever. I woke up on Thursday morning at 2.30am unable to sleep so just watched TV (and had a can of cold baked beans…another thing I enjoy at the moment!). Friday morning wasn’t as bad with a 4.30am wake up instead.  The early mornings mean that by 8pm at night, I am falling asleep on the lounge.

Cravings: Still that dreaded sausage and egg muffin with hashbrown and tomato sauce is haunting me. We were at Aldi’s the other day and a woman was standing out the front and eating one and I was almost drooling. Luckily for me, with Clint having to use my car this week I have been unable to get to the local Maccas or Hungry Jacks – phew!

Highlight of the Week: Clint being able to feel the bub kick from the outside. It’s taken a while of me feeling the movement and then moving to let him feel only to have it stop but finally he was able to feel something.

What we’re looking forward to: Seeing our families next weekend. Really looking forward to catching up with everyone and doing a bit of baby shopping with my mum.

Have fun!

  1. You look fantastic, Michelle! Don’t like the sound of cold baked beans though – gotta love weird pregnancy cravings! :)

  2. you are looking great! Good sleep is more important during pregnancy time.
