On my bucket list
I have a bucket list. And believe me, it’s a L-O-N-G list! I was actually talking with some friends this week and they aim to do one big achievement a year. It got me thinking about my own list and wondering if I was trying to do too much and could that be the reason I don’t achieve as much as I would like (either that or I have way too many expectations of what I can achieve in a year!).
One of the biggest items on my list is for us to one day own an acreage with our dream home on it, the home we would design just to suit our needs and desires. I have always had this “dream location” in my mind..picture this…it is about 4 acres of slightly rolling fields and the trickle of a small creek running through it. You would reach the houe via a winding driveway. From the house you have distant ocean views as you sit on the verandah, soaking up the warmth of the sun. Yes, that’s the land we will buy when we win the lotto! Realistically though, we would like a few acres within a reasonable drivig distance to beach and shops. We would like it to be as self sustainable as we can get it with vege and fruit gardens, maybe some chooks too.
The other dream I have always had is to have a resort with lots of little romantic houses or cabins. The cabins would be well enough away from each other so you have privacy. Their would be a main house that you can come up to for meals. So what if we could couple the two dreams together? How cool would that be?!? Well, this week I came across the ultimate place – yes, the place that would entirely exceed my dreams. It’s in Walland, Tennessee in USA and they call it Blackberry Farm. I just had to share the beauty of it with you.

Doesn’t it make you wish you could stay there? Oh how I would love to replicate something like this (perhaps on a much smaller scale!) in Australia. Oh well, I can continue to dream as I strive for my goal.
Have fun!
