Hot! New lamps

Since July last year we have been hunting for new lamps for our master bedroom.  The process would go something like this….I would see something nice, take a pic with my iPhone, get home, show Clint, he would like it, get back to shop…they’re sold out or only have one and not reordering.

What would have taken the pain out of the process would be to have gone with our original plan which was to put pendant lights on either side of the bed with a switch on the wall so you could turn them off. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

I knew exactly what I wanted, could see it in my head, and I was a mad woman on a mission to find it.  Here’s some of the ones we found…then lost:

From Freedom

From a bathroom shop

We’ve had these lamps holding the fort for us:

Master bedroom

They are not that nice to look at, really don’t go with the look we are trying to achieve, but what I really like about them is the light that they throw throughout the room…kind of patterned look as the light filters through the shade.

So Clint and I decided to go lamp shopping and this is what we bought:

So we finally got something that we really like…I do say “really like” though as we do miss that filtered light pattern. I think if we got a new shade that did that pattern thingie, I would be a very happy woman indeed! What do you think?

Have fun,

Michelle

  1. Tell me about it! I have been hunting for lamps for literally 6 months. Cannot find anything I like. I want something square / rectangular – exactly like the ones in your post. But, 99.9% of lamps are round! Why is this?! Love all three of these – can you give us a quick rundown of where they were from, just out of interest. Thanks!

  2. Argh!! The search has sent me crazy! We’ve gone with the square look in the master suite so I really wanted square and something that was going to work with our mirrors next to the bed. The first lamp pictured was from Freedom (but they no longer stock), the second was from Pillow Talk (again, no longer stock) and the one we ended with was also from Pilow Talk. I saw Harvey Norman had a glass square one but it was in white. Good luck Sally, let me know what you end up with :-)
