Hot! An anniversary celebration

Today is Clint and my 3rd anniversary. It’s actually the anniversary of when we first met. But before I tell you that story, I need to back up a little and give you some background.

Us in Sydney on my birthday in 2009

You see, Clint and I were virtually introduced. No, we didn’t meet on some dating website. I was actually on holidays visiting relations in a tiny little town with a very small population. My uncle Noel was curious as to why I was still single and, as all family members do, suggested he give my number to a guy that was working with him who was “a nice guy also single”. I rolled my eyes and did the “whatever!” to my uncle. A few days later, I was out to dinner with my aunty Sandy, when I got a call on my mobile from Clint.  We had a chat, he sounded sweet and kept saying “anyhoo” which I thought was really cute. He asked if he could call again some time so I said yes. The calls between us kept coming as did the text messages. We hadn’t a clue what each other looked like but we were enjoying speaking with each other on a regular basis.

Us (very cold) in New York City

Clint was living on the Gold Coast and I on the Central Coast. With some 9 hours drive between us, it didn’t make it easy to meet up. So when Clint said he was coming down my way to visit his mum for his birthday, he suggested we catch up for coffee.  On the day of the big meet, I was sitting in a cafe with no idea what Clint looked like. Everyone that walked past I would wonder “is that him?”  Suddenly a black Toyota Hilux pulled up and a handsome man in a black leather jacket with sunnies on stepped out. I thought to myself “ooh I hope that’s him!” The next minute I see the man using his mobile phone. The next minute mine rings. “Where are you?” he asks. “Did you just pull up in the black Hilux?” I ask. “Yes”, he replies (at this point Michelle does the happy dance).

Here we were sitting across from each other, talking like we had known each other for ages. Clint said something about life being good and sitting across from a gorgeous girl. I just thought he was being nice because he was my uncle’s friend. After coffee he suggested we take a walk. We strolled along the waters edge, chatting and joking. After a while we stopped and he leant over and kissed me. I would have to say it was the most awkward kiss in history as I was so shocked, nervous and giggling.

Fast forward 3 years and here we are today, living in a beautiful home we are renovating with a baby on the way.

Clint and I only a few weeks pregnant

I believe that there is a special person for everyone and it takes a one in a million chance for that special person to come along. I believe I’ve found that special person in Clint. I love you dearly with all my heart babe and am glad you came into my life. I look forward to spending a life time of anniversaries with you xo

Have fun!
