Hot! A confession to make

Yes, I have a confession to make and it is rather an embarrassing one. But first let me explain myself.

You see, I have always been house proud. I remember many years ago, whenever my parents used to come and visit me, that I would clean the house from top to bottom, make the bed and then sleep on the lounge that night so I didn’t mess anything up and was ready for their arrival in the morning (they liked to show up early and surprise me!). I have always been one to poof up lounge pillows and ask Clint not to sit down until after the visitors have arrived. I even bring out the good china and cutlery when we have guests (although we do use it just for ourselves on special occasions!). Is it a phobia or an addiction? I don’t think I would label it to that extreme.

So back in September, we bought some really nice bathroom linen – two bath sheets, a bath mat and hand towel – for what was our new ensuite at the time. My family were arriving to see the house for the first time and we had just finished renovating the bathroom as they were walking down the driveway, so it was fitting for me to hang the towels on the newly installed towel rail and drap the bath mat and hand towel over the bath.

We’ve had a lot of visitors since then. Friends and family coming to check out our handy work. Clint’s clients calling in to see the quality of our work. I always make sure the house is pretty spotless for visitors, with the oil burner going and nice mood music.

But here is where the confession comes into play…i’m so embarrassed to share my dirty little secret but here goes. We have never used the towels or the towel rack. That’s right, they have been put, on “display” for over 10 months and we have been using our older towels that we hang over the glass shower screen to dry.

There you have it, I have shared the secret, gotten it off my chest (phew!). So now my dilemma is how do I break the cycle and actually let us start using them?!?

Have fun!
